*Please be sure to maintain the dry sterile dressing until 48 hours have passed. This will keep the area sterile and reduce your chances of infection.
Begin soaking the affected area 48 hours after your office visit.
Fill a basin with warm soapy water. The water does not need to be hot. One squirt of antibacterial hand soap mixed into the warm water works fine.
Soak the affected area for 15 minutes each day.
Pat the area dry with a towel.
Put a small amount of Neosporin on a Band-Aid and cover the affected area. This should continue until you are seen for a follow-up appointment.
*Please be advised that a small amount of blood may be seen on the Band-Aid. This is normal.
